A new fitness business in Coon Rapids, which started with pop up camps at Alloy Brewing, is going strong in its new home. Burn Boot Camp opened in early 2022 in a commercial center at the corner of Round Lake Blvd. and Coon Rapids Blvd.
“We are excited and slowly growing,” said Amanda Brauer, franchise partner for Burn Boot Camp Coon Rapids. “We’re really having a good time.”
There are three strength and three conditioning camps every week. Each 45 minute camp is unique but is designed with the same three components: a dynamic warm-up, a main workout and a finisher. Along the way, there’s plenty of encouragement and high 5’s. “I go through and demo every station and every exercise,” Brauer said. Trainers also suggest modifications for pregnant members and those with injuries. And they move station to station to make sure exercises are being done with proper form and that members are being challenged.
Founding member Denise Hess of Andover recently renewed her membership. She goes up to five days a week and says members have each other’s back.
“It’s the first time I look forward to coming to workout,” Hess said. “I need that community behind me to keep me motivated and keep me coming.”
Burn Boot Camp’s Coon Rapids location has three trainers who lead morning and evening classes Monday through Saturday. Members range in age from 13-78. Three different membership types are offered.
“My goal is to have the people of the north metro up on my transformation wall with their stories and they are not all physical transformations,” Brauer said. “A lot of them are mental and emotional transformations that have happened.”
