Coon Rapids Resident Self-Publishes Second Book

Sister Lost marks the second horror novel by Coon Rapids resident Jennifer DeVries who writes under the pen name, Brenda Lyne.

Jennifer’s fascination with the horror genre began early. By age 12, she had read every Stephen King novel in her parent’s library.

"Stephen King is my hero and he's very much my inspiration,” DeVries said. “Not the gory kind of bloody, scary horror stuff, just more of like the paranormal ghost-type stories like this one."

It took DeVries a year to write Sister Lost all while balancing a full-time job and family, in order to find her inner-author.

"If you want something bad enough you'll figure out a way to make it happen and I hope that that's a lesson that my children learn as they watch me navigate my author journey," DeVries said.
