Preventing and ending homelessness was the goal of a one-day resource fair in Blaine.
On September 19, Anoka County Community Connect brought together employers, health providers and close to 40 other groups or vendors who share that goal.
“As we go into fall we want to make sure that the folks that may be on the verge of homelessness hopefully don’t ever have to experience it but those who may be in a shelter have an opportunity to move out,” said Michele Reid, Housing Program Coordinator at Anoka County Community Social Services and Behavioral Health.
The resource fair at St. Timothy Church included help finding housing & work, along with free checkups, haircuts, flu shots, lunch and a hepatitis A vaccination.
