While people dig out from the heavy snow this week, a local food shelf is asking for help. ACBC Food Shelf in Anoka is in need of winter clothing donations.
ACBC serves approximately 30-35,000 people each year. Between the polar vortex and the winter storm advisories, ACBC manager Jay Carlson says the need is as great now as ever.
“Right now with this weather, what we really need right now is good warm clothing, clean, gently used,” said Carlson.
ACBC says winter clothing in kids’ sizes is especially needed, as well as winter supplies for the homeless.
If you’d like to donate, desired items include:
Winter coats
Boots
Gloves
Hats
Charcoal
Tents
Sleeping Bags
Camping Grills
Donations are accepted Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11:00 a.m. or by appointment. ACBC is located at 2615 9th Avenue North in Anoka. Learn more at www.acbcfoodshelf.com or call 763-422-0046.
