The Anoka-Hennepin School Board adopted the 2019 property tax levy this week.
The tax levy for 2019 has been set at $113,694,786 which is a 5.03% percent increase from this year's levy. School officials say if your home's value went up four-and-a-half percent or less, the school portion of your property tax bill will stay the same or decrease next year.
About 21 percent of District 11's funding comes from property taxes. A much larger chunk,70 percent, comes from state aid which the school district says has not kept up with the rate of inflation.
School leaders met with local legislators on Thursday to discuss school funding and other goals for the upcoming legislative session.
