A new resource for students at Anoka-Ramsey Community College made its debut on campus this week.
The Campus Cupboard is a free food pantry where students can get up to 12 items per visit. It will be open twice a month throughout the semester.
The Campus Cupboard program is operated by volunteers who work under the AmeriCorps' VISTA program which aims to alleviate poverty. Their research found that one in five students at Anoka-Ramsey experiences food insecurity.
The Campus Cupboard also connects students with school counselors and other community resources like the SNAP program and housing through the YMCA.
