Outreach

Coon Rapids Senior Services offers many events and activities for participants to give back to the community. From volunteering at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids, to collecting school supplies and other donations, our volunteers are always looking for ways to help others in the community!

Blood Drives
Red Cross Blood Drives take place several times a year at the Coon Rapids Senior Center. Look for signs outside of the facility or check for dates and times in the "Voice of Experience" senior newsletter.

Collection Site

The Coon Rapids Senior Center is a collection site for the following items:

  • Box Tops for Education (benefits local schools)
  • Hygiene products (items go to International Health Services/Honduras. Must be small/hotel size only)
  • Kemp's Milk Lids (benefit local schools)
  • Printer cartridges (helps Hamilton Elementary fund school supplies)
  • School supplies (collected in the late summer to benefit area students)
  • Used eye glasses (given to the Coon Rapids Lions Club which distributes to those in need in third world countries)
Goldentones Choir
This singing group spreads the joy of music to nursing home residents and performs at other special events. The group practices each Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Coon Rapids Senior Center (schedule varies).
