The Coon Rapids Police departments has volunteer opportunities for youth including Police Explorers and adults including Police Reserves.


The Coon Rapids Police department periodically hires unpaid interns during the school year or summer. Applicants must be current students in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Sociology or Psychology that require students to complete an internship as part of their degree program.

Law Enforcement Interns will gain experience and knowledge in all aspects of law enforcement, crime prevention, and community engagement. Internship schedules are flexible and may include nights and weekends.
